Xaraxab Kalahari Camp is being developed and built on the northern bank of the brook Xaraxab which is meandering through the Karossewie No. 72 portion of the game estate Nabatsaub Game Ranch. Nabatsaub is situated in eastern Namibia, just 42 km south of the town of Gobabis in the Omaheke region in the ecological zone of the middle Kalahari in the eastern valley of the Black Nossob River. In order to give the game which is living here naturally enough space for freedom of movement and to provide a better chance for survival, the two family farms of the Namibian Nauhaus family, Nabatsaub No. 71 (1907) and Karossewie No. 72 (1982), were amalgamated into one spacious Nabatsaub Game Ranch. This game ranch was registered by the Ministry of Environment, Forestry and Tourism in April 2001 and covers a size of over 8 600 hectares. Once traditionally used for primarily cattle farming, these farms are now successfully transformed into a quality game farming ranch. The camp derives its name from the Muramba Xaraxab which lends a special feature to this diverse landscape and habitat.

The two business partners Mendes Vinte and Friedrich Nauhaus are sharing the common dream to establish a small yet cosy and exclusive accommodation establishment in this middle Kalahari environment. Situated only two and a half hours east of the Namibian capital Windhoek, Xaraxab Kalahari Camp is an ideal stop-over on your way from Namibia to Botswana or from the central Namibian area to the southern Kalahari and to the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park in Botswana and South Africa. Of course, Xaraxab Kalahari Camp lends itself as an ideal starting or finishing accommodation of your Namibian and southern African safari!

We are ecologically aware and strive to sustainably conserve the unique ecosystem of this stunning region for future generations.
